Last week I was in Little Rock, Arkansas for a day of CMS, two days of SQL RS training, and two days of sitting in with Microsoft while they went through walk-throughs and hands on development for our specific needs as they related to Content Management Server 2002. All in all, I left very impressed. Get to spend another 3-4 weeks in Little Rock the rest of 2003 implementing CMS... specifically, my role invovles the development portion like custom controls and the like. As for SQL Server Reporting Services, I was amazed how easy it was to develop and author reports. At my last job, I worked for the Department of Defense, specifically on a project where we were taking the Navy's civilian office and bringing all their applications into a Citrix environment. There was a Cognos BI piece... and everything I saw of RS met what I saw of the new Cognos Series 7. Kinda hard to beat MS's pricepoint on that one (free). It was interesting working off an interm build (Beta 2 was released during the training).
