People usually start the New Year with a resolution; this time I’m doing something different. What better way to start the New Year than with a change…
Those of you in the Office Server community, especially those working with SharePoint, likely know the names Bill English, Todd Bleeker, and their company, Mindsharp. If you don’t, they are highly respected SharePoint MVPs, developers and trainers. I’ve had the fortune to attend their private summits when the company I work for hired them for a few on-site training sessions early on in our SharePoint adoption. Mindsharp’s training offerings cover all aspects of SharePoint from developer courses to administrator & end user courses to architecture & designer courses and even InfoPath training.
Later this month I’ll join Mindsharp primarily to expand their offerings to include Content Management Server training and courseware in addition to their current SharePoint offerings. This allows me to spend more time with CMS (and what ever it’s called in O12) & SharePoint so you can expect to hear quite a bit more CMS-related stuff from me (blogging, speaking, & bits!). Mindsharp has great plans going forward as you’d expect with Office 12 (O12) & the Office Server System nearing beta 2 and an RTM release later in the second half of this year… CMS is only a part of it. Just wait… 2006 should be a fun ride!
For the last few years I’ve worked for Fidelity Information Services and can’t say enough great things about the work and the people. My management was always very supportive and did everything they could to facilitate a positive & productive environment. I likely wouldn’t have gotten involved with CMS or SharePoint if I hadn’t joined Fidelity. I’m going to miss the people I work with on a day-to-day basis… both those in person and those in other offices outside of Jacksonville. There are just too many to list everyone’s names, but those of you know who I’m talking about. (The out-of-the-blue job post from the other day may make more sense now.)
The question has already been asked so I’ll just knock it out: I’m not leaving Jacksonville… in fact I hope to get even more involved in community events in the southeast especially user groups and code camps!
